Volunteer to Coach
- Each of our teams are coaches by our amazing group of parent volunteers and we'd love to have you be involved in the 2025 Spring season. Whether your player is new to the club or returning, it’s a great opportunity to invest in your local community and help enhance your child's soccer experience. Each team requires a Head Coach, Assistant Coach and Team Manager. The Spring season does not include practices, games only and schedule requests can be submitted.
- To register and learn more about the commitment, login to your member account, then click Volunteer Opportunities and Find Volunteer Roles. Please plan to sign up as soon as possible. If you have any questions, or would like to inquire if your player's team is in need of volunteers, please reach out at [email protected]. Optional training provided to those new to coaching.
Policies & Financial Assistance:
- Team / Teammate Request Policy: All players are placed on teams on a first come, first serve basis. If players were not placed on the team they requested, it is likely that team was full by the time they registered. If they were unable to be rostered on their team from last season, we’ve done our best to place players with previous teammates and/or players from the same school. Early registration recommended if you are looking to be placed on your team from Spring 2024 or Fall 2024. We will do our best to accommodate all team/coach requests, but there is no guarantee that they will be fulfilled. Thank you for understanding!
- 75% refund before registration deadline (2/20), 50% refund on or after registration deadline (2/21), no refunds on/after schedule posted (Late-March).
- Financial Aid is available for qualifying families. Please contact [email protected] to apply. Financial Aid does not cover uniform.
Game Schedule:
The Spring Portland Youth Soccer Association (PYSA) season for 1st - 8th grade players consists of 6 games, all on Saturdays. Potential game dates include April 5, April 12, April 19, April 26, May 3, May 10 and May 17 (with one by-week). The official game schedules is released by the league in late-March. Families will be notified via email when the schedule is available.
Practices:
There are no practices for recreational teams for the Spring season, games only. All players will receive a copy of their team’s roster from SportsConnect by March 8th which includes their team name and coach contact information. Your player’s coaching staff will be in touch via email with game-day information by early April.
Uniforms:
The uniform can be purchased at Tursi Soccer. Players from U7-U14 (1st to 8th Grade) are required to wear the LSC uniform to all games. The uniform consists of a purple jersey, black shorts and black socks. Players are welcome to select any jersey number they’d like. The uniform is the same as previous seasons, so old uniforms can be reused. Please plan to purchase your players uniform as early as possible to ensure it is available for pick up or delivery by the first game (early September).
Tips & Reminders from Tursi Soccer:
- Review the FAQ page and see store locations and hours.
- When you arrive at the store, locate a sales associate to help you get your uniforms. Do not get in the line at the counter until you have your uniforms.
- Shopping during the day has the least amount of traffic and shopping Monday to Thursday. Expect 30-45 minutes of shopping time if you visit Friday through Sunday. We want to encourage you to do your uniform shopping before the end of the month! Wait and processing times dramatically increase when we get to September.

- *LSC players get an additional 15% off on non-uniform items using code Club15 online or let the people at the counter know. Your uniforms are already at a discounted rate.
Download the Stack Team App, which coaches can utilize for team communications/collecting game availability. You should have received an email last week to the email used during registration to join. Once you register your player’s team's icon will appear on the Team App home screen. It’s important you attend as many games as possible, or communicate well in advance about availability, so teams have enough players at every match.
